I have worked in the finance industry for 40-plus years. For the past 12 years, I have focused exclusively on nonprofit organizations. I started my career as a special education teacher. In special education, I received training in developing individualized education programs for each student to meet their needs and educational goals. When I moved into consulting for software implementations, my first entry into finance, I realized this skill was transferable to implementing and creating financial systems.

In my career, I have worked for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. My background includes contracting and consulting for specific projects within the finance department. And I have also been the controller for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. I have worked for many different types of organizations, including healthcare, manufacturing, importing, wholesale, governmental, education, and service industries. I also owned a behavioral health agency and have served as board treasurer for two NPOs.
